Our Mission

Every year 1 in 5 mothers will struggle with her mental health after giving birth.

She will smile through the exhaustion. Hold everyone together. And quietly fall apart inside.

The system offers her one appointment at six weeks. Then walks away.

She deserves more than that.

The Mother Whisperer was founded by a mother who lived that silence and chose to show up so no one else has to face it alone.

We show up before she has to ask.

Because when a mother feels seen, she heals.

And when she heals, everyone around her does too.

That is us. That is why we are here.

Why It Matters

The Gap in care

After you have a baby, the system gives you one doctor's appointment at six weeks. Then you are on your own.

No follow up. No check in. No one asking how you are really doing.

For most mothers in America, that is where the support ends.

Here is how big that gap really is:

πŸ“ 8 out of 10 mothers live in communities where there are not enough mental health providers who specialize in maternal care.

πŸ“ˆ The problem is getting worse β€” the number of high-risk areas has nearly tripled since 2023.

πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§ 62 million women β€” that is 96% of all mothers of birthing age β€” live where trained help simply does not exist in enough numbers.

The good news: Change is possible and it starts with showing up for mothers before they fall through the cracks. That is exactly what The Mother Whisperer is here to do.

The Scale of the Problem

Behind every statistic is a real mother.

A mom who cried in the bathroom so her family wouldn't see. A mom who smiled through appointments while falling apart inside. A mom who thought something was wrong with her when really, no one had ever told her this was normal.

This is how many mothers we are talking about:

🀱 1 in 5 mothers experience a mental health challenge after having a baby, every single year.

πŸ˜” 62% of mothers felt judged or treated unfairly during one of the most vulnerable times of their lives.

πŸ“‰ Since 2016 poor maternal mental health has risen by 64% and it is still climbing.

When a mother feels seen, heard, and supported, she heals. When she doesn't, she suffers alone.

The Mother Whisperer exists so that no mother ever has to suffer alone again.

She is amazing. And she deserves to feel that way.

The Cost of Doing Nothing

Not helping a mother is not free. It has a price. And it is a big one.

The financial cost:

πŸ’° $14.2 billion lost every year in the U.S. because mothers are not getting mental health support.

πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§ $32,000 is what it costs per mother and baby when care is ignored β€” paid by hospitals, insurance, employers and families.

The human cost:

πŸ’” A mother who never felt good enough.

πŸ‘Ά A baby who needed more from her.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§ A family that struggled when they didn't have to.

Helping a mother can start small.

A warm gift waiting for her at the hospital. A kind word that reminds her she is seen. A moment that says someone thought of you today.

Those small things? They open doors. They start healing. They change the entire experience of becoming a mother

What We do

What We Do

We show up for mothers.

From the moment she gives birth with love, warmth, and the simple reminder that she is not alone.

She is seen. She is celebrated. She is enough.

And she has a community cheering her on every step of the way.

🌸The Gift Experience

Every new mother deserves to feel seen from day one.

Our vision is a warm curated gift delivered directly to her hospital bedside before she goes home.

Inside she will find thoughtful items, helpful resources, and important hotline numbers β€” everything she needs in one place, wrapped in love.

Not handed to her as an afterthought.

Placed in her hands with intention. With care. With one simple message

Somebody thought of you today.

🌸Check-In Program

The system checks in once. We stay.

Our vision is to check in with every mother at key moments throughout her first years β€” through calls and messages.

Not a survey. Not an automated message.

A real moment that says

We still see you. You still matter. How are you really doing?

Because motherhood does not stop at six weeks. And neither do we.

🌸 Peer Community

No mother should figure this out alone.

We are building a community where mothers support each other online and in person.

A safe space to be honest. To be heard. To hear someone else say, "me too".

Because sometimes the most powerful thing a mother can hear is not advice from a professional. It is me too from another mother who has been there.

🌸 Mental Health Referrals

Sometimes a mother needs more than community.

When that moment comes, we will have a trusted list of mental health providers who understand maternal care.

Real resources. Real people. Ready when she is.

What Inspires

A mother holds her newborn and the whole room celebrates the baby. But who celebrates her?

The Mother Whisperer was born from that question.

We are inspired by the mother who smiled through the pain. The one awake at 3am in silence. The one who lost herself and found her way back β€” and promised no mother would walk that road alone.

That mother is our founder. This organization is her promise kept. 🀍

The Mother Whisperer was founded by Mya Chen, a woman who has worn many hats. Mother. Wife. Friend. Coach. Educator. Community advocate.

But above all, someone who never forgot what it felt like to need someone in her corner.

Mya did not build this from a boardroom.

She built it from her heart.

From her own experience of becoming a mother, the quiet nights, the moments of feeling invisible, and the long, beautiful road back to herself.

She knows what it feels like to need someone to show up.

So, she became that someone.

No mother should leave a hospital feeling invisible.

She should be seen.

I see you.
